Postmodernamuseet is a museum of urban experiences. It is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In its permanent collection are four unmissable Stockholm experiences. These are Urban Knitting, Parkour, Skateboarding, and Cultural Diversity. Postmodernamuseet’s exhibition space is the city of Stockholm. Postmodernamuseet shall:
Show how diverse urban culture in the Swedish capital is.
Promote cultural diversity.
Promote knowledge in the history of urban experiences, and understanding and interest in subcultures.
Preserve, catalogue and research the Postmodernamuseet collection and procure new experiences to enhance it.
Make the collection accessible to the public, organize exhibitions and learning activities, and operate lending and deposition activities.
Research other government-owned or government-funded urban experience collections.
Promote international contacts by organizing exhibitions of Swedish contemporary urban experiences abroad, and be responsible for Swedish participation in international biennials that showcase emerging urban experiences.
