This skatepark is located in Björns trädgård. Translated to English as “Björn's Garden,” this is a small public park in the southern island of Södermalm, named after Carl Gustaf Björn, a gardener. His son, Carl Fredrik Björn, known as “Rike Björn” (“Rich Björn”), inherited the garden in the 1880s, and donated it to the city in his will upon his death in 1915. The will explicitly said that the park should be a green place for the citizens of Stockholm, and contain a playground for children. The park is located by the major street Götgatan, opposite Medborgarplatsen. In 2004 the park was given a major facelift as part of which the skatepark was also constructed. It is a very popular location for Stockholm's skaters, especially for training purposes. In one skater's words, "Everyone has been there at least once, to improve his/her skills."
